London was awesome! It was such a different to go away from my small town in the middle of nowhere, and end up in such a thriving
metropolis. Ah, it was just the escape I needed.

Although I could probably have asked for better weather. Well, that might not be the way to put it. The weather was actually beautiful. The sun was shining the entire time, and everything would have been
peachy had it not been for the temperatures. Being stuck in an asphalt jungle in 36C (97F) was not exactly ideal. Especially not when the hotel we stayed in didn't have air condition installed.

We did have a table fan however, and somehow we survived.
Our hotel was (as I mentioned in my past blog) located only a five minute walk from
Oxford Street. And boy did the shops and I get well-aquainted over those three days.

I have no idea how many hours I dragged my mom up and down the shopping street and in and out of various stores. Let's just say that my feet got blisters from all the walking, but that even that didn't stop me. I did purchase some great stuff, though! I absolutely fell in love with
New Look, not to mention
Topshop. The latter one was even a bit too big for me. There were so many clothes, and I didn't know where to start looking.

Haha! Talk about dilemma. I loved their bottom floor, though. There was dresses in all shapes and sizes everywhere. They even had a section with old vintage dresses. Ah, girl heaven!
The highlight of the vacation (or the confidence booster, as I like to call it) came on Wednesday morning. My mom and I decided to walk from
Marble Arch (where we were staying) and down to central London to watch
Buckingham Palace and
Big Ben. (Hey, you gotta see it when you're in London, OK?) Anyway, on the way we walked a bit in
Hyde Park, and sat down on a bench to enjoy breakfast. Suddenly a man stopped some metres away and just stared at us. My mom is the most paranoid person there is, and she was starting to freak out, when the man walked even closer to us and shouted something. He gestured that he wanted me to answer, and
repeated his question. And get this - his question was: "Are you a famous person?"

Haha! I blame my oversized sunnies and big hair! But it was kinda fun.. getting mistaken for a celeb! Oh yeah.. I'm gonna live on that one for ages!
But the sightseeing was pretty fun. Buckingham Palace was kinda cool, with all the guards in their red costumes and big hats and stuff. They were so cute. The armed policemen scared me, though.
Guns are not something I see every day.

And Big Ben was just as grand as I'd always imagined it to be. Actually, I was pretty
fascinated, and snapped like 10 pictures or so with Big Ben in the background.

I'm gonna put all the pics in my gallery later, but for your viewing pleasure I'm gonna add two photos here as well. The first one is of yours truly at
Waterloo Station and the other one is the
Houses of Parliment and Big Ben! Pretty, eh?
By Thursday night I was safely back home in Norway, and on Friday I went to Hønefoss to meet
Bryndis, a good friend I hadn't seen in a while. She brought along her boyfriend, and he was a bit more talkative that he was the last time I met him. That's good!

He's a pretty nice guy, and the two of them are acting
lovey dovey all the time. So cute. It was a good chance for us to catch up (and for me to wear my gorgeous new dress from New Look in public for the first time.. ah, I'm so shallow!).
